The APEL has been widely accepted and has been adopted in whole or in part for use in all of the U.S. The Authorized Protective Eyewear List (APEL) is comprised of ballistic spectacles and goggles that have been tested and certified to meet or exceed the standards for the U.S. The product is available through the DoD Optometry Electronic Catalog (ECAT) system in two configurations: a single pack or a bulk 25 pack. The U-Rx also features a low-wrap face form angle that minimizes optical distortion for excellent visual acuity. The unique drop-in design of the U-Rx insert allows the user to quickly insert or remove the prescription lens carrier for interchange between any of the items in these five product families. My only, and very minor, grumble with this set is that in my opinion the zip is the wrong way round for truly safe carry and the closure should be at the top to prevent the spectacles dropping out if the zip tag is accidentally snagged and therefore partially opens.
